Pre-Natal Massage

Pre-natal massage is a wonderfully relaxing treatment for the expectant mother as well as having benefits for the foetus. It helps on both a physiological and psychological level. It can help to combat insomnia and promotes relaxation in you and your foetus due to the stimulation of glandular secretions such as oxytocin and prolactin creating an environment of emotional support and well-being.  It helps to relieve sore and aching muscles, helps to deal with the lasting pain of cramps.

Massage improves lymphatic drainage to help reduce swelling as well as encourages the circulation of blood throughout the body helping to enhance the delivery of vital nutrients such as oxygen to the tissues and organs of the body and aids in the removal of toxins created by metabolic waste leading to improved vitality for you and better nourishment for your baby.

Supporting you and your baby:

The massage will be given either supine (lying on your back with legs supported), side-lying with legs and bump supported or seated. Proper positioning ensures comfort and safety for you and your and baby. Your modesty will be maintained at all times with the appropriate use of towels and pillows. You and your baby will be treated with care and respect. Only oils which are pre-blended and safe for use during pregnancy will be used, and only in the event that you have no aversion to the fragrance.  Unfragranced oils are also available.
