Flourish and Thrive Ep 15: Tattoo Transformations with Karen Nicolaou

In this episode of the Flourish and Thrive radio show, Kate Hartley interviews Karen Nicolaou, cosmetic and medical tattoo artist.  Karen transforms the lives of her customers by giving them back their confidence and reclaiming their smile with the clever and artistic use of her medical and cosmetic tattooing.

Blog Talk Radio have started adding ads to the beginning of all shows with good listener audiences – this is a double edged sword!  I’m so happy to hear that I fall into the “have a sizeable audience” slot, but it’s a bummer having the ad.  If you want to avoid it, fast forward the first 30 seconds of the show 🙂

Karen’s exuberance and passion for her customers shines through as she explains the difference between traditional and medical tattooing, her plans for the future and the importance of medical tattooing and how it transforms the lives of those who undergo the procedures.

Plus, in the episode:

  • The many ways in which medical tattooing can help enhance the look of the skin as well as create definition by the clever use of shading.
  • How cosmetic and medical tattooing bring back a person’s smile.
  • The difference between traditional tattooing and cosmetic and medical tattooing.
  • Karen’s plans to encourage more men to take advantage of cosmetic tattooing to help overcome problems such as hair loss.

More about Karen Nicolaou:

Karen was a police officer for 19 years ranging from Detective, trainer and firearms officer. She felt a calling to use her artistic talents and became a conventional tattooist in 2008 and trained in cosmetic tattooing in 2009.  She currently runs her own salon in Colchester, Essex, UK, called Aspects of Beauty.

Karen’s favourite quote is by the Dalai Lama. She loves Buddhist philosophy and says that this quote has taught her the skill of listening and how much you miss when you forget to listen.

“When you talk you are only repeating what you know, but when you listen; you learn something new.”
