What Happens When You Meet Your Soulmate … and beyond

What happens when you meet your soulmate and beyond

Have you ever met someone who you just “got” and who “got” you instanteously?  The eye contact, the touch, the intonation, the listening, their way of being was just extraordinarily in line with what you needed, resonated with who you are at every level of your being?  It’s almost as though that person connects with you on a spiritually cellular level.  Has that happened to you?

And if it has happened to you, what happens when you are brought swiftly back to earth by the fact you are on your way to get the shopping in ready for the romantic meal you’ve promised your partner?  Or when you hear that your “soulmate” is heading home to cosy up with his/her partner and children.  It’s a conundrum of the senses, isn’t it?

What is a soulmate?

I think you need to have an open and spiritual outlook to resonate with the idea of a soulmate.  For me, a soulmate is someone you are connected with spiritually, whether that spiritual connection has been part of your former life or not, I’m not sure.  But certainly, there is some energetic resonance that results in your contact with each other.

I was chatting to a psychic friend of mine this afternoon and we were discussing how various spiritual entities have contributed to our lives.  If you don’t get “spirit” leave off now as I don’t want to waste your time, but for those of you who do believe there is something beyond this human life that we live, then listen in.

“Falling in love is very real, but I used to shake my head when people talked about soul mates, poor deluded individuals grasping at some supernatural ideal not intended for mortals but sounded pretty in a poetry book. Then, we met, and everything changed, the cynic has become the converted, the sceptic, an ardent zealot.”  E.A. Bucchianeri

I have had the luck to have experienced several spiritual encounters, all of which I have felt very privileged to have felt.  So, if you want to know more, please email me at: enquiries@flourishtherapy.co.uk and I’ll be happy to share my experiences with you.

For this article, I believe our lives are depicted as a map.  In essence, we have several paths available to us dependent upon which choices we make.  I believe we shape our destiny as we progress through life.  Furthermore where our destiny may result in an untimely death by taking certain actions, that untimely death can be postponed into the future by making different choices and ultimately taking a different path.

How to recognize your soulmate

So, what happens when you’re faced with the predicament of meeting someone who you feel you already know although you’ve never met them before?  I think this sort of person is your soulmate.  It’s not just someone who you think you may have met in the past, or who looks vaguely familiar.  This person is one who agitates you and gets right under your skin.  It’s someone you are so in tune with that when you are with them they make you feel complete.

You may be the calmest, most well-organised and logical thinking person on the planet, but when you meet your soulmate, all your plans are scattered asunder.  You will feel a strong resonance with your soulmate.  Emotional chaos reigns.  Your brain might be telling you one thing, particularly if you’re already in a loving relationship.  Yet your being is yelling something incredibly powerful yet silent to you.  But you can’t ignore it.  That’s what happens when you meet your soulmate.

What happens when you meet your soulmate?

Meeting your soulmate will make you question things.  Such as is the partner you’re currently with the right one for you?  Sometimes a soulmate is presented to you as a loving connection, other times they may be there in order for you to learn as a result of your experience with them.  They may be there as a catalyst for change.  They may have come into your life as a source of comfort offering profound bliss and intimacy that you had only ever dared dream of.  Sometimes a soulmate will come into your life to nudge you in a direction you need to go.

A soulmate complements your life.  You help your soulmate grow and he/she helps you flourish too.  With the help of each other you can surmount challenges you never previously dreamed of.  Most importantly, remember that a soulmate will only come into your life at the time of your life when you need them.

Be in no doubt, that when you meet your soulmate you will know it.  You will not have loved another being (apart from your children) as you do your soulmate.  There is a natural connection that permeates all you say and do together.  It is an experience you won’t be able to deny to yourself.  When it happens, you will feel it on so many different levels.  Together you will shine.  When you are apart your soul will yearn for them.

“We were not making love, we did not even kiss, but the inexplicable intimacy we shared left us wordlessly and hopelessly locked into each other’s gaze.” Jasmine Dubroff

What happens if you don’t find your soulmate?

It’s important to remember that you don’t need to wait for your soulmate to appear, or even to ever find your soulmate in order to live a fulfilled life.  If your soulmate appears, then be thankful they have stepped into your life.  If you live your life with no knowledge of your soulmate, don’t despair.  It means you’ll have the chance to make powerful connections of the relationships you already have.

Integrity and honesty are key

Finding a soulmate when you’re in an already happy relationship can have a turbulent effect on how you experience life.   So be true to your emotions.  Be honest with yourself.  If integrity is one of your top values, you’ll avoid making mistakes.  When you live in alignment with your values, you’ll always make sure you do what is right for you, and ultimately those who you love, whether or not that involves a soulmate.  We are not supposed to put life on hold until our soulmate arrives.

Live life to the full

Live life to the full now.  If your soulmate appears, consider what you already have and what you might gain or lose as a result.  Remember that your soulmate can come in many different guises, some to help you learn a lesson and others to help free you from a situation you may feel locked in.  Trust your inner compass, listen to your heart, but most importantly, be honest with yourself.  If your soulmate is there to be embraced into your life, nurture that opportunity with all your passion.  This is your current human life.  Make the most of it.  Contribute, love, give and prosper.

Let your heart sing

With an open and happy heart, you will start to see the hidden potential in people.  You will be more forgiving and accepting of others.  When you are with someone, such as a soulmate, who makes your heart sing, you have a natural inclination to spread the love.  When you’re busy spreading the love to complete strangers, whether by a smile, a touch or a kind comment, you have no idea of the positive repercussions of that gesture of kindness.  It might just be what that individual needs to share the same love.  You might be the catalyst to make someone put down the razor blade when they’re considering self-harming or worse, ending their life.  It might be as simple as making someone have faith in human-kind again.  Whatever goodly human quality you can share with fellow humans can only serve to have positive repercussions.

Make every day count

Whether you find your soulmate and keep them, find them and lose them or live a life without knowing a soulmate as such, eventually, spirit becomes whole.  You will merge with the greatness of the beauty of what it means to be a human who lives a life of love, contribution and purpose.  Ultimately, we will all find each other again in spirit.   So live a life of love, honesty and integrity.  Contribute where you can, live a life of purpose and make every day count.
